Meknès

I had flown to Casablanca as that's the main entry point from North America, and then continued on to Tangier. I continued from there by train to Meknès, one of Morocco's four imperial cities.

Vast fortification walls with enormous, elaborate gateways. The city of the madly cruel Moulay Ismail is built on a grand scale. Meknès is 7° west of London, but it looks like what I imagine old Central Asian cities would look like.
