The below table contains a 16×16 array of boxes displaying all 256 possible 8-bit greyscale values, from black in the box labeled 00 to white in the box labeled ff.

For example, the box labeled 3c has color #3c3c3c meaning that red, green, and blue are all set to 0x3c of a possible 0xff or 60 of 255 in base 10. Put another way, 0x3c out of 0xff is 23.53% of the way from black to white.
