The Fictional Architecture of Manhattan
New York has been the setting of many books,
movies, and television shows.
Many movies and shows have been filmed, at least in part,
at the locations where they were set.
This allows you to go to a place that you have never visited
before while feeling as if it is a familiar place and
you have been there many times.
You feel as if the boundary between reality and
fantasy had become somewhat slippery.
Jung would probably blame this on the Collective Unconscious.
One thing that is complete fantasy, though,
is the vast sizes of the apartments
inhabited by situation comedy characters.
