Lesson 011

I think you should use the Duolingo greek course instead, but here are my notes on an alternative.

Position words
Στο just vaguely means at, so that:
Το μολίβι είναι στο γραφείο.
just means that the pencil is on or in the desk somewhere. Insert one of these:

Το μολίβι είναι πάνω στο γραφείο.
That pencil is on the desk.
Το μολίβι είναι κάτω από στο γραφείο.
That pencil is under the desk.
Which position words need από and which don't? That isn't clear. The next lesson indicates that it's as above, but a pair of examples in this lesson includes both:
πίσω μας — behind us
πίσω από στο ερμάρι — behind the cabinet

up	πάνω στο

Measure distances — από ... ως ...
Από το τραπέζι μου ως το τραπέζι σου είναι τρία μέτρα.
From my table to your table is three meters. Or, more literally:
From the table of-mine to the table of-yours is three meters.

Omit the personal pronoun except for emphasis:
Είμαστε μέσα στο δωμάτιο.
(We) are in our room.
Εμείς είμαστε μέσα στο δωμάτιο.
Who is in our room? We are in our room!

There is a claim in Lesson 13 that Lesson 12 demonstrates the use of κάνω in asking and answering prices of things (and in shillings, no less). But I don't see anything about that....

Lesson 014

How? — πώς;
With, by means of — με
Πώς πηγαίνουν τα παιδιά στο σχολείο
How do the children go to school?
(lit: How go the children to school?)
Τα παιδιά πηγαίνουν στο σχολείο με τα πόδια
The children go to school by foot.
(lit: The children go to school by the feet.)

Verbs following the usual pattern

The verb I hear or I listen to, ακούω, now follows a contracted form in Δεμότικα or common Greek. In the lessons we hear the archaic form following the usual pattern.

This lesson wanders into outdated terminology. There is discussion of η πένα, formerly spelled η πέννα, or the fountain pen. Nowadays everyone uses το στιλό, the ballpoint pen. The audio files sound as if they have been modified, to dub the word pen in place of something, probably fountain pen.

Similarly, there is discussion of listening to το γραμμόφωνο or the record player.

Lesson 015

Genitive case — –ου
Το στόμα είναι μέρος του προσώπου.
The mouth is part of the face
Το χρώμα του τηλεφώνου είναι γκρίζο.
The color of the telephone is grey.
Τα δάκτυλα του χεριού μου είναι πέντε.
I have five fingers on my hand.
(lit: The fingers of my hand are five.)

If the word ends in –ι, then the genitive form is always stressed on the final syllable.
