Movie Pitches

ROBERT LUDLUM'S "THE ELSINORE EQUIVOCATION" [action]

It's "Hamlet" as it would have been — no, should have been — written as a Cold War era spy thriller by Robert Ludlum. Hamlet is suffering from partial amnesia and is uncertain who killed his father. While trying to investigate his past, he shocks himself with unexpected martial arts skills.

Largely set in Hamlet's native Copenhagen, with scenes in London, Paris, Prague, and Zurich, and a bloody climax on board the Orient Express bound for Istanbul.

Based on a comment by Salman Rushdie on the alternative titling had Ludlum written the original.

One of the travelers should have the technical skills to get them off the island, but his repeated failures to do so makes him seem somehow interested in keeping them together and under observation. Could he be trying to get information from the wealthy financier and his wife? Or could either of the women, one of whom claims to be an actress and the other an agricultural researcher, hide some dark secret?
