Movie Pitches

THAT 1870s SHOW [comedy]

Featuring three young men, friends for life, and their largely mute child-brides, THAT 1870s SHOW shows the fun-loving side of non-mechanized agriculture during what seems to be the tumultuous decade of the later 19th century!

But what's more, it will intrigue its viewers with the conundrum it presents. Are the bearded, farming, technology-deprived pals really living in the 1870s (and just making the occasional prophetically anachronistic wisecrack), or is the show really set in the present day but focused on a schismatic Amish sect?

Will they get the crops in? Will they really take the buggy into town to see the telegraph office the neighbors were talking about at the last barn-raising? Probably not, as these 1870s slackers just want to hang out and have fun!

THAT 1770s SHOW [comedy]

Featuring five young men and women and set in Boston during the 1770s, in the tumultuous decade when both France and England's North American colonies were undergoing revolutionary upheaval, THAT 1770s SHOW shows the fun-loving side of revolution!

Will they take part in the political discussions at Samuel Adams' tavern? Will they protest against the heavy-handed English taxation? Not a chance! In the pilot episode, they only show up at the Boston Tea Party because they think it's going to be, well, a party, and not a revolt.

THAT 1470s SHOW [comedy]

Featuring five young men and women and set in Constantinople during the 1470s, in the tumultuous decade after the capital of the Byzantine empire fell to the Turks, THAT 1470s SHOW shows the fun-loving side of the establishment of the Ottoman Empire!

Will they ever learn to follow the official rule that the city must now be referred to as Istanbul? Will they ever join a guild and learn a real trade? Probably not, when there are now harems for these 1470s slackers to visit and fun to be had!

THAT 1070s SHOW [comedy]

Featuring five young men and women and set in England during the 1070s, in the tumultuous decade after William the Conqueror crossed from Normandy and captured England, THAT 1070s SHOW shows the fun-loving side of the establishment of the modern English nation!

Will they ever learn proper Norman French, once just the language of the court but now becoming the lingua franca (so to speak) of the country? Will they carefully watch their fathers' livestock? Probably not, as these 1070s slackers just want to have fun!

THAT 70s C.E. SHOW [comedy]

Featuring five young men and women and set in Jerusalem during the mid-70s of the early Christian Era, in the tumultuous decade when its Roman rulers crushed the rebellion of the Jewish state, THAT 70s CE SHOW shows the fun-loving side of oppressive Roman rule!

Will they witness the destruction of the Jewish Temple? Will they join their friends who are off to make a last stand at Masada? Probably not, as every party is a toga party and these 70s CE slackers just want to have fun!
